TMI 79-11-00 Crease Stiffness Tester
This instrument is used to detect the crease force and bending stiffness of cardboard, and calculate their ratio to optimize the production efficiency of cardboard packaging. By adjusting parameters such as crease depth and width, the quality of paper box molding is ensured, and problems such as bending and poor adhesion are avoided. The technical parameters include a measurement range of 0-399gf, an accuracy of 1 gram, and specific stiffness and crease angles. The instrument is suitable for testing under specific temperature and humidity conditions, equipped with a cutting blade and calibration weights for easy operation and maintenance.
On high-speed automatic packaging lines, there are often unqualified paper boxes (irregular shape, bending, and weak adhesion of paper boxes), which reduces production efficiency.
The reason for the above phenomenon is that the ratio of the stiffness of the cardboard and the crease force of the cardboard after indentation is not appropriate. Research has shown that the most significant factor affecting the effectiveness of folding cardboard into paper boxes is the ratio between the crease stiffness measured in the same direction and the cardboard stiffness
Usually, controlling the stiffness crease force ratio in the MD direction of cardboard between 1.5 and 3, and controlling the stiffness crease force ratio in the CD direction of cardboard between 3 and 7, can achieve the expected good packaging production efficiency.
This instrument simulates the conditions of the packaging production process, measures the folding force and bending stiffness of cardboard, calculates the stiffness folding force ratio based on the measurement results, and effectively determines the folding force required for the packaging machine to set the paper box in the actual packaging process, ultimately avoiding situations such as paper box bending and weak bonding. For example, the method of deepening the indentation depth is usually adopted to reduce the crease force, while reducing the outward tension of the paper box; In addition, selecting the optimal indentation width can avoid damage at creases and so on. All tests are conducted at a certain temperature and humidity.
