NIP width adjustment measurement system:
When two rollers (hard soft) are pressed against each other, a contact area is formed. This contact area is determined by the roller width and the "NIP width". The NIP width can serve as a quality benchmark for precise adjustment of contact rollers. Using NIP CON SMART can perform this adjustment process faster and more effectively than traditional methods. In the case of a printing press, this can be done without using ink and without the need for cleaning, saving time and effort.
According to the working principle, first measure the NIP width, then calculate the actual NIP width (excluding the inserted sensor) and display it. This accelerates the precise adjustment of the roller position. The operator operates according to the customer's specific program through the graphical visualization interface on the touch screen. The set values, tolerances, and measured values will be processed, displayed, and saved in the form of tables and graphics. Data can be output in PDF format or stored digitally.
The contact area measurement system can also be provided together with smartphones under the name "NIP CON SMART compact". The compact design directly displays all relevant measurement values on the device.
Working Principle:
Two sensors are placed between the hard/soft paired rollers, near the adjustable roller bearings. The measured width of the contact area is displayed in real-time in digital format. The full-color visualization and calculation of absolute NIP width measurements simplify the adjustment process. The extremely lightweight sensor enables a single person to complete measurements. The measurement sequence, set values, and tolerances can be defined through PC software according to customer requirements.
